Where have the years gone? We are entering our 52nd year of business.
What a wonderful ride it has been and I know there are many more years to come.
I asked my father one day what made them chose this spot to build
our summer home, which is now Riverview Cottages. He said,
"I used to sell minnows in the summer and I would come here by boat.
At that time there was no road, we would catch minnows in the bay
where the store stands now. Do you remember we used to come
fishing here? It was great fishing just in front of camp, just like some
of our customers do now. I really liked the high rock and the view
was incredible".

A lot of work has been done over the past 50+ years. It all began with the dream of a young couple, my parents, Leonard and Shirley Dokis, wanting to own their own little cottage with great fishing and an incredible view. My parents have put a lot sweat, hours and tears over the years to make Riverview Cottages what it is today, turning a small cottage into a full time family business. From one cottage to three, then a boathouse then a gas shed, to a little store, to purchasing boats and motors, building four more cottages, another boathouse and expanding the store four times to what it is today. We eventually built the motel, a large work and storage shed, a gazebo for guests , the Migisi fish hatchery, then an even larger work garage and our most recent project a large indoor storage building.
Every year we add to our services offered and renovate to make your visit with us more enjoyable. The river is our home and means so much to us and we know the river means so much to many of you as well. It is where we come to relax, meet up with old friends and make new ones, create memories and a place everyone longs to be. I have been fortunate for the last 33 years to have the chance to work side by side with my parents. My children, Shelley and Gerry, have also enjoyed working here as well as their children, Chad, Connor, Mason and Drew.
